Story
The MYWORLD 2027 MyLondon calendar is a social enterprise initiative for London homelessness art groups and individuals who have been affected by homelessness. In July this year, at St Paul’s Cathedral, 47 FujiFilm single-use cameras were handed out, with the theme London.
Training on how to use the cameras was given by The Royal Photographic Society [The RPS]. From the 45 cameras returned to us, more than 1,200 photos were developed. From these,133 photos were chosen by the photographers for the exhibition. The public voted for their favourite photos and this determined the 2027 calendar images.
The selection panel which included representatives from Amateur Photographer magazine, Homeless Link, homelessness-sector support workers and people who have lived experience of homelessness. Since 2012 sales of calendars and other projects have raised more than £380,000 for art groups, artists and vendors. This year we want to do it again but, first, we have to print the 2027 calendar and to do that we need your support. MyLondon is a quality product - a real art calendar, printed in England.
The contributors to the calendar - the winning photographers - all wrote or edited their own stories. The public votes were taken at Spitalfields Arts Market, Ealing Broadway Station and Maltby Street Market in early August 2026, with the public being asked to choose the best photos for the 2027 MyLondon calendar.
It will cost us £12,000 to print the calendars, as well as covering other launch costs (paying the photographers, framing the exhibition and mailing the calendars).
MYWORLD has several goals: •

To empower people affected by homelessness, not only through photography and art, but through connecting with the public.

To tell the stories of individuals who are affected by homelessness,

To raise awareness in the general public about issues from the participant’s personal perspective.
All the money raised goes back into the project, either to pay for the printing of the photographs and calendar, rewarding the winning photographers, providing art materials for art groups affected by homelessness or helping individuals attend art courses. Art is seen as a major way for people to recover from the trauma of being homeless. The calendar is still in the production stage, but here is a sneak preview of the 12 photographs chosen by public vote in Spitalfields Arts Market in early August: See a map of the photograph locations here.

Pelicans, St James’s Park, Westminster

One of the six adult Great White Pelicans in St James’s Park looks out over a new pelican fledgling, hatched in May 2026 . Pelicans have lived in St James’s Park for over 360 years. In an historic breakthrough, the resident pelicans succesfully hatched four chicks for the first time in the park’s history. The names of the adult pelicans are Isla, Tiffany, Garga, Sun, Moon and Star.
